Save six syllables, and say "blind"?

It is, among almost all disabilities, a wonder to me that blind people live their day to day lives. Has anybody tried the exercise of living blindfold for even an hour or so? My recollection of doing this is that a lot of jam failed to even reach the bread. Glad to hear of this lady's success.

Thanks for providing the link to Smt. Maheshwari's website. I have now listened to her melodious music.
Would you be able to change the title of this thread to include Vidushi Maheshwari's name?

sramesh, thank you for providing the link to Smt Maheswari's homepage.
The music is of very high quality. Hope you can also provide links to full concerts of hers.

I wish the vidushi all the best, and hope more recognition comes her way.
Perhaps the rasikas group can host a chamber concert by her.

sramesh - I do have a request. Can you please refrain from repeatedly referring to her handicap. Violin vidwan M Chandrasekharan is also blind, but one hardly hears him being referred to as the 'blind' or 'visually challenged' violinist. He is a top quality violinist, period - just as Smt Mahewari is a top class vainika.

You are doing a disservice to her and the divine music she renders by constantly diverting attention to her handicap. Please, let her music speak for itself and her. Thank you.

Obviously you are out of date with the workings of the modern day society , in this aspect , too .
Which has moved on to referring to them as Challenged - Visually , Physically . Even the word Disabled is not in vogue anymore- In sections of society that have been sensitised to these undercurrents .

At best, 'differently abled', to include everyone....

It is indeed a soothing concert . One without frills and that reaches straight to the listener . I liked the Ghatam artist too immensely.
