Vaikam Jayachandran- RagaSudha- 25/12- 10am to 12.15pm

It was a pleasant morning- thanks to wonderful concert rendered by Sri Vaikam Jayachandran. Spotless 2.15hrs concert filled with bhavam. Accompaniments were at their best, added more beauty to the concert.

Started off with Saveri varnam, followed by Gajananayutham in chakravakam. It was saturday so he rendered one of the Navagraha Krithis Diwakaram.

Brisk Nee Sari in Vitapi followed by very brisk swaram proved the performer's ease with which he can handle manodharmam- reminded Chembai by the sheer speed of swara kalpana.

Pankaja naabha in Kalyani was probably the best among the lot. Alaapana, Neraval, Swaram were too good.

Towards the end it was Palani in Kaapi, with lot of chicory that added glory to the entire concert.

Overall, it was a plain, spotless, gimmickless, pure carnatic concert.

I am sure audience should have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Wish we could have many more concerts from Sri Vaikam.
