Nice line up. Best wishes! Is the Ravikiran slated to perform on Feb 4th, the same as our forum member, and the vocalist (student of Sri RKS and Sri TMK)? If so, I did not know he was an instrumentalist as well.

Flautist G Ravikiran is also from Bangalore!

I will try to attend the veena-venu-violin concert -- but sadly that falls on a Friday, so even if I come I will be considerably late.

Forgive me for one faux pas - thanks to a good friend, who called up to say I missed this - I am correcting the post - I inadvertently missed out Vid Sanjay Subrahmanyan.

I'm surprised that for an organized and alert person that you are, you dropped the name of one of the vidvAns from the list!

You have the solution for avoiding the confusion in the name G.Ravikiran. Calling himself Flute Ravikiran would solve the problem. G.Ravikiran the vocalist has established his identity in the past few years. Folks used to mistake him for Chitravina Ravikiran who can sing too!

Wonder if RA Ramamani is in the same league as the others One speciality I know of her is that she is one of the few who can sing putting two different thalams with the two hands. There is a special name for it (Avadhana pallavi or something). It is quite an interesting sight.

The festival commences today, inaugurated by Vid Bombay Jayashri....there's a veritable treat of concerts until the 6th.

Who's all going? I'll probably try to attend all the concerts! Looking forward to today's performance. I love the combination of Bombay Jayashri, Embar Kannan and Patri Satish Kumar that too!
