Smitha Madhav, the multi faceted artist

Smitha Madhav is a multi faceted artist, with several accomplishments to her credit. She is a Bharatanatyam dancer, Carnatic vocalist, lawyer and a TV personality.

Smitha has been trained in Bharatanatyam by Guru Nritya Choodamani Smt Rajeswari Sainath, the director of Sruthi Laya Kendra Natarajaalaya. This institute was founded by one of the stalwarts and heavy weights in Carnatic Classical Music, Mrudangam maestro Karaikudi Mani.

She also continues to receive advanced training in Carnatic Classical music from Ms Lalitha & Ms Haripriya, better known as Hyderabad Sisters.

I have seen people write serial episodes about lesser talented artists .

Not even a single member thought it fit to write a few lines in appreciation of the artist.

I think there was some discussion about this artist (I hope I am not talking about someone else) and the knowledgeable rasikas did not quite approve the quality of her singing. They were saying that she was stretching herself thin across many disciplines...

Excuse this unrelated question, Enna Solven was Chandrika Pai, a CM artist ever discussed. She seems to be on youtube a lot - resident of NA.

Sorry S-P, I tried to search but could not get that thread. Chandrika Pai's name does not ring a bell in my head, so I do not think it was her. The problem was that thread was about something different. As we do, we discuss many things in a single thread.
