Sri R.Ramachandran is one of the pioneers in uploading to sangeethapriya. He brought out and uploaded some gem concerts held at Jamshedpur in those days. His uploads are available from http://sangeethapriya.org/down.shtml

It is an august function honouring our Rasika members and all our Chennai membership should try to attend and donate whatever they can to promote the Sangeetha Priya services to CM.

Very happy to see the pictures of VG, Eesha and their sahadharmiNis. What a lovely pair the mini-Saraswatis make! What did they sing?
Who are all on stage? Which one is TVG?

Sri VG was with his sahadharmiNi but not Eesha (Sri Sridharan). Next to him was the compere but I do not know her name. Perhaps Eesha may post the information, when he sign-in. I only took the photos and upuloaded to picasa. Hence you cannot find my photo.
Regards,
TVG.

There do not seem to be many in the audience. I wish I had gone --- but wishing after the event doesn't help :$

The compere's name is Sivapriya. She is not related to me in any way.

Nick is correct. The hall was perhaps half full. Considering the reponse during previous award functions, we expected a larger audience. I was told there were too many events on that day and that could have been the reason. Few others felt, Tatvalok is not as accessible as venues such as Ragasudha hall or Sastri hall. Perhaps rasikas can give their views on what they expect in the event (agenda/venue etc) that will be compelling for them to attend.

The audio of the award function is available at:
http://www.sangeethapriya.org/award/2010/

The recording of the concert will be uploaded soon.

Mods: Can this be combined with the other thread "Rasikapriya 2010 award function " ?? This was Rasikapriya 2010 award function , NOT, Rasikapriya 2011 award function.

So nice to hear from you TVG and eesha. I 'm sorry I made that mistake about the compere.
I did meet eesha at the Rasikas. org meet (I left at tea break) but I have not met TVG. Hopefully in the coming season I can say thanks for bringing to us such good music.

Congratulations to all the awardees! Thanks to Sri TVG for the pictures that enable us to put faces to names - and I finally got to see pictures of Sri Govindan who is otherwise so self-effacing.

Pl note that Shri TVG is an octogenarian with an amazing dedication for CM (?herditary) and who shares non-commercial CM recordings (audio and video (always with the permission of the artistes) ) for those of us abroad who are eternally grateful to him..

Standing behind TVG in that picture (light blue shirt with finger pointing) is Rajagopalan (Srini) whose built-up Sangeetapriya, a dedicated CM enthusiast who is a pioneer in the endeavour of propagating CM globally.

Hats off to these dedicated CM enthusiasts and their service to global propagation of CM...

Nick,
Now, don't act as if you're a spring chicken! You will soon catch up with us. Yet, won't we be advancing in our age too :( which means you can't keep up with us :)
