Carnatic Music on TV

Hey,

Not sure if this thread has already been posted somewhere else. My apologies if it has. Can anyone tell me if any TV channels broadcast carnatic music? If so, can you also give me the timings? I was under the impression that Jaya TV did, but I can't find a slot for carnatic music on their website. Thanks a lot!

Podhigai - 5-5.30 a.m on all days and Fridays 5.30 - 6 p.m
Sunday - 9 - 10 a.m - south zone hook up (each state gets a turn)
ellame sangeedhanthan - Tue - 7.30 - 8 p.m
Kalaignar - 5.30 - 6 p.m (muisc or dance)
Watch DD Bharati - there r good progms.-keep checking.THe other day I heard this unique RTP by T.N.Krishnan in 4 ragas - shankarabharanam,todi,kalyani and Darbar.

1. SVBC daily for 75 mts any time between 1800 to 2000hrs. Great service. All live concerts and no commercials!On the fourth April we heard a lovely concert by Nedunuri supported by Malladi brothers and accompanied by Sriramparasuram on the violin. Sowmya sang on the 5th with Embar Kannan on the violin.

2. Sankara TV: Week days from 1330 to 1400 (Nadhaganam) On Saturdays only: 2030 to 2100: World music and Maithreem bhajatha from 2100hrs to 2130 (Compered by Niveditha) Daasa vaani : Weekdays 2030 to 2100 hrs on the Kannada composers from Karnataka with explanation.(The music is light)

3. Podhigai_ Wednesdays 2100hrs to 2200hrs: Pudhu punal (used to be compered by Niveditha). The south zone hook up is on Saturdays from 09 to 10 hrs and Podhigai also telecasts concerts on Mondays from 09 to 0930 hrs. 0900 to 1000hrs on Fridays: Dance programme.

I read somewhere that TNS is going to perform Kathakalakshebham on Ramayana for one full year. Can some one give details please? Also, there may be malayalam channels telecasting CM. Info will be appreciated.

I think Amritha TV has a concert from 8.30AM-9AM on weekdays. The news article mentioned TNS harikatha in Shankar TV - wonder if it is Sri Sankara TV. Unfortunately I don't get that channel on Tatasky and cannot verify.
