A memorable concert by the sisters. They began with a Varna in Suruti. This is one raaga which is usually not heard in concerts especially at the beginning. IT was a delight . They continued with a composition in sowrashtra. The kriti was sung at brisk and swaras were fast paced. A good alaap by ranjani in Saaranga followed by a composition of Tyagaraja.Ranganaayakam was good. Gayatri's elaboration of Todi was well received by the audience. Raajuvedala was sung . At this point they hurried through the swaras. [ As guessed they had planned an RTP. Since the concert was delayed by 30min and started at 7pm due to various factors!!!] Vasanta was well elaborated by both the sisters. They chose a beautiful Pallavi. IT was indeed a treat.. They concluded the concert with a compostion of Purandaradasa and an Abhang.

Percussion was fantastic . I do mention that Sudheendra on mridanga was fantastic and was well supported by Narayana murty on Ghatam. [As compared to what i heard during their last concert -
( with Ranjani Gayatri on vocal ) recently in bangalore at gayan samaj.]

Wonderful! RTP in Vasantha. It must have been such a treat. R and G are one more wonderful duo who handle RTPs in such a wonderful manner. Got to listen to their Khamas and Reethigowla RTPs few months back when they performed here in Hyderabad. And I guess Raju Vedale must have been a treat too! I heard this song of theirs in an album. Wonderful Neraval!
I am sure people must have enjoyed it a lot.

Even now, I am watching their concert live telecast on Shankara channel from Sringeri. Wonderful singing. Amazing bhairavi and poorvikalyani. Well handled.
The pieces they sung were, Sri Mahaganapathim in Atana, Sarasijanabha Sodhari in Nagagandhari,Sarisurahasana priye in Nata with swarams, Endaro Mahanubhavulu,A detailed poorvikalyani followed by Ananda nadam aduvar. It had a detailed neraval and swarams. The other songs were Kamalamba in Anandabhairavi,Vararagalaya in Senchukhamboji,Ka Va Va in Varali. Just now they finished an amazing Bhairavi, "Janani Mamava" of Swathi Tirunal. Such a treat it was! Wonderful Bhairavi. The thaniavarthanam is going on now. Thanks to Shankara tv!
