Nalinakanthi as janya of Sarasangi

Why is Nalinakanthi classified as a Janya of Sarasangi. It seems to a naive listener like me closer in "spirit" (whatever that means) to Sankarabharanam.

I didn't know of this convention.

That gives poor sarasAngi a janya, though.

But that way, shouldn't haMsadhwani be a janya of sarasAngi too? Or at least shankarAbharaNam? Why kalyANi?
