The song on Saneeswaran Composed by Muthuswamy Dikshadar
Rendered by Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer
Saturn is stated to be in adverse position to many Rasis.
He is regarded a God who does the twin jobs – a giver as well as destroyer. A person who sincerely prays to Shani, is blessed and all his problems and worries are solved.
Please listen Shri SSI rendering the composition of Muthuswamy dikshadar:

Re: divAkaratanujaM yadukulakAmbhOj
diVakara tanujam is undoubtedly one of the great master pieces of MSD. It is one of the two navagraha krithis he composed first in the series, with the other one being ‘bRhaspatE’ in Atana. Apparently he composed these two krithis to cure chronic stomach-ache of one of his disciples. Later he finished the series by composing the other 7 krithis.
Having an intermediate-level knowledge of Sanskrit and astrology, I have been studying navagraha krithis for a while.
There seems to be a lot of variation or pathantaram for this krithi. MDR, SSI, BMK, Bombay Sisters, S Rajam, S Ramanathan and Rudrapatnam brothers have all presented it in their own unique styles. Judging by what is available online, there doesn’t seem to ‘THE’ authentic version even though MDR and SSI stand at the top of the popularity scale. The lyrics have some variation too. In the charanam, Bombay Sisters sang ‘makara kumbha rAshi nAtham’ where SSI’s version has ‘makara kumbha rAshyAdhipam’. In the anupallavi, many of the versions have ‘atishaya shubha phaladam’. Neela Ramgopal sang it as ‘ati shubha shubha phaladam’.
MDR’s recording at MusicIndiaOnline has a beautiful chitta swaram. I am wondering if MDR has composed it himself. If he did, given that he is the master of Yadukula kambhoji, it doesn’t come as a surprise to me.
