Ninth Thureeyam Sangeethotsavam is taking place in Payyanur, Kerala.

It is organised by Swami Bharati. Payyanur is really blessed to have such an array of distinguished and blessed musicians participate in this years music festival.

Thanks to Swami Bharati for his efforts in organising such an event and making Payyanur a destination for annual music festival catering to the lovers of shuddha sangeetham!

13th July 2010 - M S Sheela - Carnatic Vocal Recital (All woman Kacheri)
14th July 2010 - Malladi Brothers - Carnatic Vocal Recital
15th July 2010 - Padmashree Kadri Gopalnath and Praveen Godkhindi - Jugalbandi - Saxophone and Flute
16th July 2010 - Pattabhirama Pandit - Carnatic Vocal Recital
17th July 2010 - Parasala Ponnammal - Carnatic Vocal Recital
18th July 2010 - Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia - Hindustani Recital - Flute
18th July 2010 - Pancha Ratna Layam.

Dear Readers,

The festival this time had one of the best maestros of the Hindustani and Carnatic worlds.

But I guess the sound system failed it all. Many a times the disgust was felt on the body language of the participants.

Its time the organisers do something about it and give the sound system to some good "professional" team who understands what it is to listen!!

I hope and am positive that the organisers will rectify the same for the next season atleast!
