The last set of lines (7 and 8 can't be split) specifies the person to whom this ardent prayer is addressed to. So, I start with that first, and then the prayer follows:

7: dharmamigu cennaiyirkk-anda kOTTattuL vaLar talamOnguganda vELE
taNmukhat-tuyya maNI uNmukha shaivamaNI Sanmukhad-deivamaNI

Oh wielder of the spear (vElE) who resides (vaLar) in an exalted (Ongu) space/place (talam) inside the temple of kandakOTTam (kOTTattuL) in the city of Chennai, replete with (migu) righteous (dharmam), the pure/holy gem (maNi) with a cool (taN) [1] face (mukha), the gem (maNi) of the Saivaites with a face (mukha) that makes one ecstatic (uN), the divine (deiva) gem (maNi) with six (shad/shan) faces (mukha)

1: orumaiyuDan ninadu tirumalaraDi ninaikkinra uttamar tam uravu vENDum
(I) want/seek (vENDum) the company/association (uravu) of those (tam) excellent souls (uttamar) who think about/meditate upon (ninaikkinra) your (ninadu) divine (tiru), flower (malar)-like feet (aDi) with (uDan) single-minded (orumai) focus.
2: uLLonru vaittup-puramonru pEshuvAr uravu kalavAmai vENDum
(I) want to ensure that my association/company is not tainted/contaminated (kalavAmai) by people who think (vaittu) one (onru) thought inside (uLLu) their minds, but speak (pESuvAr) out (puram) another (onru) [i.e., the exact opposite].
3: perumai peru ninadu pugazh pEsha vENDum poimai pEshAdiruttal vENDum
(I) want the ability to speak (pESa) about your (ninadu) fame (pugazh) to achieve (peru) greatness (perumai), and simultaneously, (I) want the ability to stay away from speaking (pESAdiruttal) faslehoods (poimai).
4: peru neri piDittozhuga vENDum mathamAna pEi piDiyAdirukka vENDum
(I) want excellent (peru) moral values (meri) to take hold (piDittu) and spread everywhere (ozhuga), and at the same time, (I) want to ensure that the devil (pEi) called (Ana) religion (matam) does not ensnare (piDiyAdirukka) (me).
5: maruvu peNNAshai marakkavE vENDum unai maravAdirukka vENDum
(I) want to totally forget (marakkavE) the desire (Ashai) to indulge in (s*xual) relationships (maruvu) with women (paNN), and at the same time, I want to make sure that I do not forget (maravAdirukka) you (unai).
6: mati vENDum nin karuNai nidhi vENDum nOyaTra vAzhvu nAn vAzha vENDum
(I) want blazing intellect (mati/madi), (I) want the repository (nidhi) of your (nin) compassion (karuNai), and I (nAn) want to live (vAzha) a life (vAzhvu) free (aTRa) from sickness (nOy).

rshankar,' do you think 'matamAna pEi' refers to 'religion' and not 'pride'(madam ,one of the shadripus)?

I too think that "matamAna pEi" may refer to ego or ahamkAra rather than religion.

Punarvasu and Sundara Rajan - you are correct - matam/madam should be pride or arrogance or ego. Thank you for pointing that out.
