raga mAi

I am looking for information about a raga by the name of mAi. Can anyone help me?

is it a carnatic rAga or Hindusthani rAga ?? Clarify

i wish i could clarify.
a long time ago, from my carnatic teacher, i learned a version of the surdas bhajan 'mein nahin mAkhan khAyo' set in mAi.
so if i had to guess i would say it is a hindustani rag, just from the sound of the name and the fact that it was a surdas bhajan. but i could be wrong.
does that provide any clarity at all?

To my knowledge and with the ref. books i have, i could not locate any carnatic raga with this name !
So it's sugg. that probably this is a Hindusthani Raga.
