Veenavaadhini Nottuswaram Workshop

Veenavaadhini is organising its summer workshop from May 27-29, 10 a.m.-12 noon at Flat No. 12, Shanti Enclave, 25 Venkatakrishna Road, Mandaveli. The topic covered will be ‘Nottuswara sahityas of Muthuswami Dikshitar.' The workshop will be conducted by Smt Jaysri Jeyaraaj Krishnan. The workshop went well, from May 27 to 29, as per plan. There were about 15-20 participants ranging from 8-year old Vidyut to some senior citizens. We learnt all the 37 Nottuswarams of Dikshitar, with notations and meanings from Smt. Jaysri and we enjoyed the process very much. Although they were mostly simple, some (eg Chintayeham Sada Chitsabha Nayakam, Santatam Govindarajam and Rajivalochanam Ramachandram) were quite difficult.
