Ragam, Taalam and the Composer's name of Known Lyrics

Post by Sundar Krishnan »

10/7/11

1) I have the Lyrics and a link of the Audio of this song, popularly sung by Yesudas.
I would like to know the Ragam, Taalam and the Composer's name :
Nalladai Nine Maname ; VeeNAi Polladadai Ninayade (Nee) ... :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4ofAYrriMc and http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=1069456&t=1

**************

2) The Lyrics is quite clear from Yesudas's Audio of the foll song :
Suno Sakhi Mere Man Ki Dard
I would like to know the Ragam (close to Behag ?), Taalam and the Composer's name.
[Track 10 in http://www.mediafire.com/?5moyjykmlem]

**************

3) I would like to know the Ragam, Taalam and the Composer's name of this song :
Hare Rama, TAyarin Vakkinai ... :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIJklkOy ... re=related
It seems that Yesudas has sung in a style close to that of TMS !

**************

Since this is NOT a Lyrics (Sahitya) request, I have clubbed the 3 songs' query-request in one Msg.

Thanks in Advance (TIA).

Thanks Mohan.

2. Suno Sakhi Mere Man Ki Dard :
I have provided the Source url. Is it not working ?
Anyway, I have now uploaded this Song (Track 10) separately in sendspace :
http://www.sendspace.com/file/h9rrzs

3. I listened to "harE rAma daSarata rAma" again.
This is the Tune, I have heard in many Film songs including Hindi Songs.
But then, this Tune is probably a slightly different flavour of Mohanam ? than the "regular" one in CM ?

Some musings (within [...] below, but would like to have a confirmation, or comments / corrections :
[
Another Ragam, which I like most - Kambhoji - also has many flavours, even in CM - like one in Oh Rangashayee, one in Maa Janaki - MMI style, one in Kuzal Udi Manam Ellam, etc. ALL are pleasant to hear.

Similarly, Yamuna Kalyani has many flavours :
- the Traditional CM style of DKP
- compared to a CM-HM Mix in some other songs
- and then the Film / Hindi songs like in :
- - Janaki Jane by Yesudas : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quGJ36O6 ... re=related,
- - or the more HM style : Jab_Deep_Jale_Ana : Uploaded in http://www.sendspace.com/file/sowwwv - Is it Yamnuna Kalyani or Hindustani Yaman ? - pl confirm / comment,
- - or like the initial part of : En Nenjil Palli Kondavan - Yadavan at Kalaimanram 2009 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVWNvn9wP84
ALL are pleasant to hear.
]

Also, the style of Yesudas's singing in this "Hare Rama, TAyarin VAkkinai ..." song, reflects a
style closer to TMS's style I feel - perhaps because it is sung in a slightly higher pitch as if one is
appealing ; a sort of a crescendo effect like in Revati - Shambo song ?

Suno sakhi is in behag raga, adi talam. I think it is a composition of Swati Tirunal.

smala, I don't understand yr question in this and the other Thread regarding something about sendspace.

As I wrote earlier in Post #3 above :
"Jab_Deep_Jale_Ana" is already uploaded in http://www.sendspace.com/file/sowwwv
You can download the song as mp3 file from this link.

My query was : Is it Yamnuna Kalyani or Hindustani Yaman ? - pl confirm / comment.

******************

To upload in sendspace, you may have to register with them.
I have done so, about an year ago for FREE.

was not able to listen to this. Comes up as :

Name: Jab_Deep_Jale_Ana.rm
Size: 684.66KB
Description: Jab_Deep_Jale_Ana - Is it Yamnuna Kalyani or Hindustani Yaman ?

Can't answer your query but if the extension is .mp3 and not .rm as above at least I can listen to the song. Similarly the list of Yesudas songs in your thread are in a .rar extension which doesn't work for me.

Now, I get yr point that it is a *.rm file, not an *.mp3 file, that has been uploaded in sendspace.

Fine, but you can still play a *.rm file in the foll Players (I have giver the Versions that I have) :

Real Player ™ (win32) : Ver 14.0.3.647

RealNetworks Rhapsody v4.0

WavePad v3.05 – from NCH Swift Sound : http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad :
[This "was" the best FREE S/w (from 2007) for all sorts of conversions from other formats like *.ivr to *.mp3, *.rm to *.mp3, *.wav to *.mp3 etc, but after I recently installed an update of RealPalyer, it is giving me some problems in playing a *.rm or *.ivr file. I may re-install the Old S/w and re-try again.

One may ask : Why reinstall Old S/w :
The Ans is that it was FREE, and I have luckily saved the Installation exe file !
The new Upgrades are NOT FREE - even though they may start with an initial Ad as FREE, in the later pages of the Installation Process, you will see that it's not even a limited 14 days' trial !

This Old 3.05 Ver is so good - for combining files - as for eg, we often see that people upload a full song in parts like Alapanai, Taanam, Song, Tani etc - even commercial CDs try to fool people by suggesting an impression of having packed more number of Tracks in the CD ... ;
This WavePad Old 3.05 Ver is also good for splitting files ...

***********

But now, you don't get this Old S/w for FREE - see for eg : http://download.cnet.com/WavePad/3000-2 ... 32923.html - there is a charge !

You can see all their Versions here :
http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/versions.html
]

Further :

I am able to play ALL *.ivr and *.rm files in the above Real Player Ver that I have now.

*.ivr and *.rm do NOT play in WMP or WavePad that I have now.
[I hope that I can correct WavePad by re-installing (WavePad v3.05), but finding a correct (Sipro Voice) Codec for WMP is a real problem.]

Hope this helps.

*******************

PS : Do pl let me know how it finally worked for you.

Further, smala - wrt *.rar files, as for eg, in : http://www.mediafire.com/?5moyjykmlem :

Both *.rar and *.zip files can be unzipped using a FREE S/w called WinRAR.

I have WinRAR 3.70 beta 4 - it's actually a 40 Days' Trial Eval Copy, but it still works (except a nuisance Dlg Box Prompt asking us to buy).

The good thing about a Zipping S/w like the one above, is that you can zip ie, create a *.zip or a *.rar file, plus also add a Pwd to encrypt the file (via Advanced ...).
Files thus encrypted with a Pwd, can pass through Firewalls because they are "sort of tunnelled".

There may be other WinZip / WinRAR truly FREE S/ws available in the Net - but, as with any FREE S/w, you may have to spend quite some time searching through, and see what really is FREE, and if it works.

Hope this helps.

Pl do let me know if you were able to unzip finally.

Thanks - I'm on Mac - all others you mention are extra downloads good for Windows - but .mp3 plays like a breeze - you do have ONE of Yesudas, the Sakhi one uploaded as .mp3 file - so if you can be consistent and keep it all .mp3 - would help.

>> "so if you can be consistent"

I have not created these files.
They are downloaded files.

So, one has to take what is available in the Net.

There is nothing about consistency here.

Further, I have given you certain guidelines - albeit in Windows.
Based on these guidelines, or even otherwise, it is for you to discover other ways to convert to mp3 files for Mac or any other OS that you may use.

Post by Sundar Krishnan »

smala, 13/7/11

Wrt yr request for "Jab_Deep_Jale_Aana" in mp3 format (refer my initial Post No 3), I have now downloaded this song from :
http://www.4shared.com/get/UBqV6qco/JAB ... _AANA.html,

and uploaded it in sendspace for you - directly ready in mp3 format - at :
http://www.sendspace.com/file/famhvu
Jab_Deep_Jale_Aana.mp3 (5,266,415 bytes) (5:29 m).

Pl confirm if the song in mp3 format now "plays like a breeze" in yr Mac M/c - as you put it - in Post # 10 : 12 Jul 2011 05:46.

Enjoy the song.
[You wrote in Post # 7 : ".mp3 : at least I can listen to the song."]

And if possible, pl let me know :
Is it Yamnuna Kalyani or Hindustani Yaman ? - pl confirm / comment.

Got to listen to it, thanks for the upload -

yaman is a Hindustani raga and this being a Hindi film song more likely - that much I can say - Lakshmanji can confirm that this song has this raga.
