She also talked about how she gives a concert which included technicality, emotional pieces and folk music. Folk music, she said, was the source from which today's sophisticated music systems have evolved. She was talking about her concerts in Carnegie Hall in USA, Something- something hall in Paris and the present hall in London and so on. She also said that she had already learnt about 150 songs from her mother before starting with her guru under whom she learnt for 15 years. She has changed quite a bit. Accent (rolling of the word Guzhu, etc.,), jewellery, hair style and so on- growing in confidence. I was awestruck to see, as a humble rasika, the astronomical rise of a C musician. Somehow I did not myself feel the sense of belonging and pride, as when, for example, Smt.MS travelled to spread our music there.
