Karnas were practiced by ancient dancers to tone up their body and increase flexibility which will help them dance better. Kanras are to be introduce in bharathanatyam at an appropriate instance.it should also synchronise with the natya movement. I feel karnas do not gel with the aesthetic movement of dance.many of the youngster do dance apply Karna since their gurus are not practicing the same due to health factors.

in this fastfood world people do not have patience to watch one hour dance program that to with fast phase movements.naturaly karnas become extinct. Sathara temple in Maharashtra has all the karna statue , this was done by Dr.Padma subramaniam on Paramacharya's instuction.
