Dear Rasikas,

Sri G.Subramaniam, our Forum member expired yesterday [28.08.2011].

He was suffering from viral fever for the past one week and taking treatment.

As forum members, you might remember that Sri Coolji, Sri Subramaniam and
The u/s started conducting monthly concerts from the year 2007.
The inaugural concert of Sri T.V.Ramprasad and his party was held at his residence.

I had a long association with him from 1998 and together we have processed and
Converted digitally from my cassette collections. He was an expert in the removal
of noise from the concerts.

I have conveyed my heartfelt condolences to his family today [29.08.2011].

Very sad news , his house was used twice one to start the inaugural concert of the series and the other when his house was rebuilt as a flat. He was one of the pioneers in converting many vintage recordings as digital ones and his passion was always working on creating rich posterity of music. Condolences to his family .

Really a shocking news. The friendship was unique and he used to visit me on the way from his office to house. We used to discuss a lot. Music and spirituality were the main topics. His soft and affectionate voice, "enna naAgaraj..." keeps ringing in my ears.

From what I heard from Coolkarni he is still not touched 60.
To the best of my knowledge he has not contributed in writing in this forum, so he has no rasikas id .

Such sad news. Sympathies to his family and to friends. He didn't have an ID, but he was a 'doer' in every sense of the word and a true rasikA and a sharer, and too young to leave this world...

I am Sri G. Subramanian's son. Thank you all for your remembrance of my father. Given how much he enjoyed Indian music in general and Carnatic in particular, this love from his fellow rasikas would have warmed his heart.

Though he didn't post much in this forum (his username was "geeyes"), he was a regular reader.
