any options for part time phd via distant learning mode

Post by niyer »

Are there any options for doing PhD in Music in a distance learning mode for a candidate having a MMusic degree ? I am residing in Bangalore and have serious travel constraints bcos of my work and family . All the same I would like to pursue a PhD from a good university . Also it would be good if the university allows an external guide as I have an expert who is ready to guide me.

You can inquire with Mysore University. They may have an arrangement where you can have a co-guide who is an external in addition to a University appointed guide.

Depends if there is a coursework component or not. Since a PhD is research based there shouldn't be a major need to be present at the university.

I understand Thanjavur University has this facility as I helped one of my friend working in Dubai to pursue his Ph.D from there.
