Update on Swarohan's initiatives and request for volunteers

Swarohan, an NGO in Bangalore which Im very closely and actively associated with , is focussing on three key areas in serving thru music. Wanted to update fellow rasikas on these .

a. Swarohan Srishti - where we conduct free shloka/bhajan sessions for kids at temples( open to all kids) and at government schools where children do not have resources for artistic pursuits .

b. Swarohan Sadhaka - where we enable talented children from the less privileged category to become music scholars by placing them with capable Gurus in Indian classical music

c. Swarohan Chikitsa - which aims to mitigate suffering thru music. Here, we visit hospitals, old aged homes, homes for the mentally retarded children etc to help them benefit from the pure vibrations of soulful music

Swarohan Srishti and Swarohan Sadhaka are ongoing activities , and we will strive to reach out thru Swarohan Chikitsa

Volunteer teachers/music therapists are invited for their active contribution to any of these activities , need not be restricted to Bangalore.

Dear Rasikas

We have some talented children from government schools in Bangalore who are devoid of resources for learning music. If you can teach shlokas and bhajans , or carnatic/hindustani classical music to these children and spend even one musical hour with them a week, plesae do get in touch with me. We will try to associate you with a school close to your area .
