IT was a concert with a few surprises.. Varna was brisk. Swaras in Sahana were good and Nagagandhari was lively..
Haripriya elaborated on Todi [ much to surprise of the audience it was the first raaga chosen for elaboration]. Kotinadulu was very lively to listen and Nerval was quite creative. They started off in the beginning with Sutigasyama and they managed to end it with kotinadulu.. 8) . Vazhi maraittirukkude was grt as always. Shanmukhapriya's elaboration on Lathangi even at the higher notes was commendable.
They made sure that Marivere was lively and brisk after a sober Nattukurinji. Haripriya started off with Kapi [ I thought they would begin with Jagadhodharana!!]. IT was indeed a delight to hear Kapi being elaborated in detail and the ease with which Haripriya goes along singing brikas and glides through the raaga.. Inta Sowkya indeed was the main kriti of the concert..and swaras
The audience indeed enjoyed post tani compositions.
Tani was good. Sairam on mridanga and Purushottam on khanjiri indeed were good combo !!
