Mudhra Award of Excellence for the Dhananjayans

The Mudhra Award of Excellence (instituted in memory of Sri.P.Obul Reddy and Smt. Gnanamba) will be presented to legendary, world renowned Natya couple V.P. Dhananjayan and Shanta Dhananjayan on 9th December 2011 during the inauguration of Mudhra’s 16th Fine Arts Festival. The fest which spans 31 days has a variety fare of events and apart from vocal and instrumental concerts by eminent artists, there will be some special programme like Sangeethamum- Sankeertanamum by Dr.Ganesh and Udayalur Kalyanaraman, two dramas Swasam and Nadagam, a special dance performance by the Dhananjayans, Raga Vaibhavam – a thematic concert by Dr.Radha Bhaskar, talent promotion concerts, Cuddalore Gopi Bhagavatar’s Panduranga Leela, Music Appreciation Programme by O.S.Thiagarajan and Dr.Radha Bhaskar, dance fest, Sthree Thyagaraja Pancharathnam - a group singing exclusively by women artists.
