Request for the Sequence of Ragams, Taalam, Composer, Lyrics & Language of this song uploaded at :

Since this is an old recording (1967), the Audio may not be so clear.

I have searched this site with strings "sopanam" and "Thoongulangal", but could not locate this Ragamalika song.

L-1) Wrt http://srivaishnavam.com/4000tamil.htm, could you pl let me know under what sub-classification, do these 3 Stanzas come under. TIA.

L-2) Also, the URL Link to these 3 Stanzas, as we pan out starting from the Base URL :...4000tamil.htm.

R-T-2) Even though the caption of the song says Sopanam, I would like to have a confirmation if this is really sung in Kerala's Sopanam style ? - ignoring the obvious absence of "Edakka". Here, it seems that we have the Std CM Ragams ??

In ...4000tamil.htm, let us consider the foll Items :

C-1) Item 15 : Periya Tirumozhi - is it composed by “TiruMangaiAzhwAr” ?
Or, is it by “Nammalvar” ?

C-2) I would like to know some of the broad, important differences between these 2 almost similar rhyming words : “Periya-Azhvaar Tirumozhi” (Item 1) and “Periya Tirumozhi” (Item 15) - other than what is already displayed as 5 Centuries and 11 Centuries resp.

Let us now consider Item 15 : Periya Tiru-Mozhi :
Pl correct me wherever I am wrong :
It contains :
= 11 Centums (Pattu) x 10 Decads (Padigam) x 10 pAsuram = 1100 pAsurams.
C-3) Is the above Calc Right ?

C-4) Similarly, how many pAsurams in Item 27 (Thiru kurun thaaNdagam) and in Item 28 (Thiru nedun thaaNdagam) ? And their resp authors too. TIA.

By going through the above pdf file, I now realized that in Periya-Azhvaar Tirumozhi in Mudal Aiyaram, for the each Pattu (Centum), we do not have exactly 100 pAsurams - (as was earlier conveyed to me by another member, never mind who etc).

What I have noted down is the foll - I hope, it may benefit some other Member (pl correct if I am wrong anywhere) :

1st Pattu (Centum) .: ..1 to 117 = 117 pAsurams - in Pages .7 to 22
2nd Pattu (Centum) : 118 to 222 = 105 pAsurams - in Pages 22 to 37
3rd Pattu (Centum) : 223 to 327 = 105 pAsurams - in Pages 38 to 53
4th Pattu (Centum) : 328 to 432 = 105 pAsurams - in Pages 54 to 66
5th Pattu (Centum) : 433 to 473 = ..41 pAsurams - in Pages 67 to 72

Thus in Periya-Azhvaar Tirumozhi, we have in all, 473 pAsurams, NOT 5 x 100 = 500 pAsurams ?? (as I expected earlier, based on what another Member suggested earlier)
- would request confirmation / corrections on this. Thanks.

MS used to sing one more stanza- Kaaraar kadalai in Sindubhairavi.
In the Radio Programme on Ramavatharam, MS had begun this song with Mattruthhaai vandu vanam poka entrida in the raga Nadanamakriya. Interestingly, alternate stanzas are in praise of Lord Krishna and Rama.

For my better understanding, I have added Stanza Nos and Page Nos to yr reply :
So, are you saying that MS used to sing these 3 Stanzas (312, 313, 315) PLUS one more Stanza "Kaaraar kadalai" (316) in SBhrvi, PLUS the Start with "Mattruthhaai vandu (Chenru ?) vanam poka entrida" (Stanza 310) in NadanamaKriya ? Pl confirm / correct.

(So) But, here, can we have the reply on the specific queries R-T-1 (Sequence of Ragams and Taalam of the uploaded Song - ie, the R-T of the 3 Stanzas) and R-T-2 (Sopanam style ?) above.

For the benefit of others - I found "Kaaraar kadalai" Stanza in :

"Mattruthhaai vandu (Chenru ?) vanam poka entrida" appears as Stanza 310 [4] in Page 50, but with "Chenru" in place of "vandu".

By the way, how you are telling this as sopanam. It is no way connected with Sopanam style of singing.
