Bharath, where on earth were you sitting? I was at this concert too!
Ravi, he's a disciple of Flute Viswa and from the Brinda-Mukta lineage.
I thought it was a fair concert. BB sang very classically and has a more brigha-oriented approach, but his shruti wasn't at all firm. His raga alapanais of sAranga and bEgaDa were concise. I would've liked more elaborate neravals, though I enjoyed the fast-paced neraval and swaras in ninnu cheppa. TODi swaras were full of kaNakku but melodious as well, which is pretty rare. RKSK played beautifully as usual, and bowed with a lot of force, which I enjoyed, especially after the truly horrendous violinist I heard earlier at BGS accompanying Nirmala Rajasekar. RKSK's tODi neraval responses reminded me of TNK, and his alapanais were remarkably faithful to the ideas of the vocalist. K Ashok was fair on the mrudangam - his anticipation wasn't always very good, but he wasn't obtrusive either.
