Thiruppugazh

First things first - What a booming powerful voice spanning 2 octaves easily - he didn't essay much in the mandara sthayi, so no idea how it sounds there. Don't think there is another male singer today to match this voice. He packs such a power for a small frame :)

UKS is to be commended very much for accompanying upcoming artistes (last year he accompanied KBMK in KGS) and lending his mastery to enhance the overall concerts.

Vengaya vathakuzhambu & paruppu thuvaiyal (or) morkuzhambu & vazhappoo paruppu usili - can those words really convey the taste of the actual food itself? One should eat/have eaten to understand what it means. So the case with this concert, unless you had been there, it is impossible to convey the taste of the same. You should have been there. Thats all.     There were just 60-70 odd people.

Potential future Sangita Kalanidhi?

2 points that I forgot to add

Tanam was with mridangam accompaniment.
His singing is mostly akara oriented and fully open throated. No crooning or falsification of voice.

UKS never misses an opportunity to play for the tAnam. He is also extremely good at it, but I wonder if it stifles the manodharmam of the vocalist. I say this with all due respect.
