Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi - Violin
Poongulam Subramanian - Mridangam
KV Gopalakrishnan - Khanjira
Vanajakshiro - Kalyani - Ata - Pallavi Gopala Iyer
Seethamma - Vasantha - Adi - Thyagaraja
Ela nee dayaradhu - Atana - Adi - Thyagaraja (RNS@ra ra devadi)
Hasthivadanaya - Navroj - M Chapu - Dikshitar
Till now, the concert was solid but not something to write home about in gushing tones, for Sowmya atleast. Her voice wasn't that cooperative IMO and her voice didn't obey here imaginative commands to produce the output she sought. However, the Hastivadanaya was a total surprise - have never heard this one, it was sung in a slow meditative manner. If only her voice had been in fine fettle, sigh

Venkatasaila - Hamirkalyani - Adi - Subbaraya Sastri (R)
Makelara - Ravichandrika - Adi - Thyagaraja (S)
RTP (rajarajeswari tripura sundari pahimam parameswari) - Thodi - Adi Kanda Nadai, trikalam & tani.
From the hamirkalyani onwards her voice seems to have settled and was far better than was for the previous numbers. Both the alapanas were fantastic. Thodi alapana and violin vinyasam went for close to 30 mins and she was already nearing the 6:25 mark.. So pallavi and swaras weren't as detailed/expansive.
Bhajare yadunatham - Pilu - Adi - ??
Chidambaram pogamal - Chenchurutti - Adi - GKB
Violin was just a shadow of Sowmya, a perfect pakka vadyam as were mridangam & khanjira. Brief tani - as she was running out of time given that MA is strict about the 2:30 duration. Even then she ran about 5 - 10 mins.
