Sri.Veeyens's health condition

Hi, this PUNARVASU, writing on behalf of my father veeyens3.
'I am so happy to know that the Rasikas Meet went off well. Pray that Rasikas.org grows more in number and in content, and the 'MEETS' in the coming years are in grander scale with all of you meeting each other in person.May Lord Rama Bless You All'.
Knowing my father, I am sure this is what he would have wanted and this is what he would have written.
Now I am writing as PUNARVASU.
My dad is veery ill and some of you might have noticed he has not been writing in the Rasikas for the past 6-8 weeks. He is not even aware of this global meet having taken place, though he knew it was going to take place. That is why I quoted his earlier post-Post No.108.
I am presently in the USA with him.
I request all of you to pray that he does not suffer. Thank You

Dear 'Punarvasu'
Your dad is the flag-bearer of all of us seniors at this Forum.
He is indestructible in spirit in spite of any passing ailments. His memories and experiences
that he has shared with us are precious for all of us. Just keep telling him how much we are
missing him and how much we want him back. That will pull him back. That is my professional
opinion too! Play the music that he likes and keep talking to him about episodes he shared with us and your personal memories. Check his responses through eye and lip movements and re-invigorate those particular topics. In particular keeep telling him how much we all want him back at this Forum.
May Lord Sri Rama in his infinite mercy restore him back to us totally and in full health!

Wherever your father's next steps may take him, I wish him well. I really hope that some more of those steps may be with us, telling us more stories.

Please tell him my name, and remind him how much pleasure one foreigner in Chennai has had, and how much learning too, from his posts.

According to your request, I join with your prayers that he should not suffer.

Shri. Punarvasu,

Distressed to learn regarding the health of your father. Prayers to Sai..
I have a suggestion to make.. Hope you have recorded "OM" which with the help of a ear phone constantly keep in his ears.
This will have towering effect.. I have tried with my relatives and result was seen..

I am sure you have the services of a Neurologist. The EEGs can pinpoint his current status. The long-term memories should be intact. What is the current medical prognosis?

In the way that he wrote about his life and family he made us all feel that he was a part of that family, and his blessing was something special. We can none of us live for ever, and yet we all want those we love and value to do just that, but it cannot be. He has gone to his peace, I am sure: we cannot help but grieve.

Echoing Rajani's words, for it can't be put better:
I hope you all find strength and peace.
I'm sure that the memory of his life will bring it to you all for all your lives.

Condolences, sympathy, to all family, to all friends, including fellow forumites. In my heart, I am sending thanks to Sri Veeyens, who touched my life even though I only knew a thousandth of a percentage of his.

With tears...

Very very sad to hear the news. He was a real beacon of light recollecting everything ranging from his earliest days when he met neelakanta shivan, his school days wearing his half pant, he raising his children and grand children , attimes his bathroom singing what was that mohanakalyAni sangeeta samrajya samsArani(that was his first few posts),his travellogue experiences ranging from worldwar 2 evacuation in india to his trips in US with the grayhound buses, navarathi fullerton pictures and his love for different locomotives when he worked in ICF,and also at times some wonderful reviews from hollywood land .

Above all his flagship posts all in "anecdotes - you read at your own risk" and with his signature style of "May Sri Rama bless you"

Veeyens Sir we will miss you for ever sir --> two photographs are in the below link scroll a bit to see both

Very sad to hear this. His anectodes touched our hearts, and though most of us never got to meet him, his narratives were so human, so touching and so humorous that everyone here feels the same sadness that one feels at the passing of a personal friend. He never failed to utter the benediction "May Sri Rama bless you all" every time he said something here, and I was privilged to have received those words of blessing directly from him in this forum on a couple of occasions.

He has moved on to higher regions, but down here in this mundane world, rasikas will dearly miss their story teller.
