Our Lakshman is like the U Ve Swaminatha Iyer who revived Tamil literature (kept it from getting lost) by scouring the villages for palm leaves which were used as fuel by the illiterate farmers

Over the years Lakshman has been contacting and travelling to distant abodes to collect and keep alive our precious Carnatic Compositions. It is nice that Sangit Natak Academy has invited him on a travel grant to pursue his work. I trust MA will wake up and honour him one of these days since there is not a musician alive who has not benefitted from his collections given gratis.

We are proud to have him among us at Rasikas for which he is a pillar of support and have honoured him in a small way with the Rasikapriya award (through Sangitapriya).

May he live long and generaously bestow the rest of his healthy life (as MKR suggests) to the service of the CM community...

Thanks vkailasam for that splendid picture and the donation of Andavan Picchai compositions...

Very happy to see the interview of Lakshmanji. He is such a generous man who shares his wealth of CM with all of us. It is nice to see him being recognized. Also it was good seeing the picture of Lakshmanji and Sri. Venkatakailasam, another person who shares a lot of his musical knowledge.

a good writeup. good work done needs to be not only recognised but Rewarded also.
Why cant be think of one?
As for lakshmanji 's eagerness to get lyrics in other languages, can we be of help somehow? Given some time, I volunteer for lyrics in Kannada. I apologize that I cannot be so quick as Lakshmanji due to my other career.

As much as Sri Lakshman Ragde has contributed immensely to CM, there are 2 more people who come to my mind who have contributed/shared tons of music (the rare and famous, old and new, CM/HM ...) who have dug out treasures from various sources, painstakingly converted them in soft form which has been shared absolutely without any kind of expectations. These treasures were lying with a few/many individuals in tapes and spools rotting. Without these 2 gentlemen, these tapes would have become worthless by now due to the fact that we do not have tape recorder or a spool player to day to play them. And we would not be in a position today to enjoy the lovely music of the past masters. And of course thanks to many others who later started contributing through Sangeethapriya which is a now HUGE REPOSITORY of Indian Classical Music today.
The 2 persons I am referring to are Sri Raju Asokan and Sri Kulkarni. Kudos to them and I request one and all in this forum to recognize and thank them for their contributions in this field.

It is the pioneering efforts of these 'KarNas' the flood gates of the hoardings were broken and the Rasikas all over the world were inundated with the divine amrita dhArA of CM.
In particular Kulkarni must be recognized for the selfless sharing of his immense store of HM as well...

Like the epic Lakshman, we just assume that he is there, by our side, to help us! We almost take him for granted. This TVG is the one who is uploading carnatic music at rasikapriya. His present tally is 2000+.He received rasikapriya award

a few years back along with , if I remember correct Shri Lakshmnji.

He is the sister's son of Shri GNB.

The other Guru TVG is the Musician who is receiving the award..

You are the snake around Sankara..
I am a helpless Garuda..as both the Chandra on his head and

I have to bear the mocking which seems to be the intention..

I am not the one who sits on an arm chair and write comments.
I have contributed as on date 2045 videos on You Tube..in one channel
I have converted 245 audios in to videos by mixing..
I have sizable visitors on you tube..
And with a visitor count of 150+daily and visitors' views of 17.60 lakhs
Besides, I am Maintaining Three blogs with over 1000 songs for listening..
And with a visitor count of 150+daily..
I have posted around 3500 songs on Media fire which can be downloaded by any one who visits my blog---There have been 2600+ downloads..
Kindly understand that I share with people which I like and get satisfaction of it..
And, all this with my age and poor health…
