Varnam-Reeti gowla

Hi,

I am looking for the lyrics & meaning of the varnam in Reetigowla written by Thanjavur Vadivelu on Lord Padmanabha. Please let me know of any reference to the notations in English as well.

I am not able to locate this varNa. I have also looked under the compositions of the other TQ brothers and I don't have any riTigauLa varNa by them.

Looks like I have the varnam. I have a book, "Thanjai Nalvar Mani Malai Vol – 2". The content says the varnam is in Reetigowla & written by Vadivelu. Unfortunately, I can't read Tamil & the lyrics in the book are in Tamil. Can anyone in this forum help me translating it? If so, please provide an e-mail id so that I can send the scanned copy of the same. Thank you.

Radhika - can you please send the scanned page to me? I have to check some of the words.

For example, in the anupallavi, 'nI kamalanAbha' doesn't make sense, and dEvA nindAsanAna would be better if it were split as dEvanin dAsanAna...

Radhika - these publications are worse than hearing the varNam sung...I am having a lot of trouble understanding the words. To make matters worse, the Suddha sAhityam (which only gives the p, ap, and c) is not the same as the sAhityam in the notations. But I can tell you that the hero of this varNam is not Lord padmanAbha, but his 'slave', the king, Sri kulaSEkhara rAjEndra bhUpati.
