Quite a good crowd attended the concert but not necessarily from the Rasikas.Org crowd.

By popular clamor and demand, here is an account of the events that transpired that day.

Sri R Krishnaswamy inaugurated the 54th Anniversary celebration of Narada Gana Sabha (and Madurai Mani Iyer Centenary Celebration) and remembered that the very first concert was performed by Madurai Sri Mani Iyer. Trichy Sankaran spoke about his association with Madurai Mani Iyer for about 5 minutes.

The concert consisted of:

Thathvamariya Tharama - Reethigowlai
Narada Gana Lola - Atana
Neethu Mahima - Hamsanandi
Sri Mathrubhootham - Kannada
Enthavedukonthu Raghava - Saraswathi Manohari
In the neraval part of this krithi (at "Chintha theerchudaku entha modi ra"), Sri TVS reminisced how his uncle and guru would elaborate this line.
Kamalambike - Todi
Again, Sri TVS reminisced about how Pazhani Subramania Pillai (Guru of Trichy Sankaran) had played so many times for this krithi for Madurai Mani Iyer.

Ka Va Va - Varali
Sri TVS announced that he would now sing a viruttham that he had penned on his Guru. The viruttham praised the qualities and character of Madurai Mani Iyer and was aptly followed by "Eppo Varuvaro" ("When will he appear?")
