Strong voice , I have attended PRP way back in 2006 once with varadu and Trich narendran as pakkavAdhyam and reviewed too, I think it is in sangeetham. He sang a rAmA nannu brova rA and one viruththam which was really superb. Tx PVS for the link , will savour at my pace.

Just heard the asaveri. Beautiful lekena! I have been struggling to get this ragam for a while and this piece (particularly the alapana) did it for me. The vasantha alapana is extra-ordinary. There is a point of breathlessness (both for him and the listener!!!) in the middle of the alapana that is just out of the world!!! PR rocks!

@PVS - Thanks a tonne for the videos.
What can I say? The ambarame thaneere was simply breath taking. I found his padantharam of the tiruppavai to be different from that of KVN. His was completely like Ariyakudi style. KVN had made some changes in the Ariyakudi padantharam I suppose. But his neraval was like KVN. I was amazed at his gyanam, sadhagam and control when he sang long neravals, avarthanam after avarthanam without going beyond the panchamam. And then up'd the ante.
Overall, It was such a rendition that Monday mornings look less gloomy for me.

Regards
T

PVS sir, thank you so much for posting these recordings. They are splendid. He also sang a devagandhari in that concert, is that by any chance available as well? I couldn't see it in the video's list, as well as the song in vasantha. Thank you so much.

@thathwamasi
I'm glad you're enjoying them. Just Mondays?
@ rohitc911
You're welcome. I had to hold back on posting the devagandhari on PR's request. Same with the song in Vasantha. I know we are missing more super hits from these two concerts...
@sabashbale
nice name!
agreed on the Vasantha. Very nicely done indeed.
