Fellow forumite Vikram Sampath has been awarded Sahitya Akademi's Yuva Puraskar 2011 for his book "My Name is Gauhar Jaan". Congrats Vikram!

Great news!
We are all proud. I'm reading his latest book "Voice of the Veena S.Balachander" and find it very absorbing. Just yesterday, I heard an avid reader say that "My name is Gohar Jaan " is an excellent book.

Many thanks --it was as much a surprise to see this post on rasikas.org, as it was to receive the sudden call from Sahitya Akademi this noon :)

Arasi ji, i await your feedback on 'Voice of the veena' after you are through with it! There are a few "uncomfortable" portions in the book and eager to see how die-hard rasikas like all of you would react. Quite nervous actually!
