Although its almost more than a week after this concert, I could not post the details, as I was too busy attending concerts and otherwise as well. Better late than never, I felt..Even now, there may be lot of mistakes. Pl. bear with me! So here it is.....
I was quite eager to listen to the Trichur Bros. So I did not want to miss even a single item. Luckily, despite the traffic jam delays, I was on time. The concert was just about to start, when I entered. They sang the varnam in 2 speeds, and set an excellent tempo for the concert. Item #2 was rendered very briskly, full of energy. All the rasikas were impressed and got ready for a wonderful kutcheri that was going to follow that evening. After the superfast sidhi vinayakam, they sang the slow and mellifluous and majestic swarajathi of Shyama Sastry "Kamakshi Amba" with lot of gamakams. . After the filler kriti #4, the very-detailed alapana of Hamsanadham was a wonderful treat. I had not come across till now, this kind of split-alapana, where both keep alternating throughout, at all the octaves. We normally see one person start the alapanai take it to certain level and hand over the mike to the other person to reach higher levels and complete the ragam. This alternating style at every step sounded very difficult for me..
Next, after the 2 short-kritis presentation, they asked us, the rasikas, whether we would prefer the main to be a kriti or an RTP. As expected many rasikas opted for a RTP( incl me!). When someone shouted for a Shakrabaranam RTP, the Bros said they will sing that next time, and this time we could choose between Vasantha and Jog. With the majority opting for Jog, the Raga-delineation was done in a very, very detailed manner. The violinist, we felt, tried his level best to match the Bros during the ragam. They also announced that there was going to be a tani following the pallavi, and that rasikas must avoid leaving during that session. They even paused for a min. or so, perhaps for the sake of people who might decide to leave right then. Pallavi rendition appeared quite brief compared to the Alapana (both for bantureethi as well as the RTP).The Bros specially acknowledged the violin vidwan's response during this Jog RTP, as they said, it was a on-stage spot decision to sing it.They added that "to play Jog is not a joke, as it is not easy".
The post main thukkadas were again very enjoyable and melodious. The violin vidwan although did play very well, was finding to difficult to match the energy and the intricate phrases of the Young Duo, we felt. The percussion accompaniments by the two seasoned senior vidwans, namely their father on the Mridangam and Nemani Somayajulu on ghatam, enhanced the kutcheri (particularly during the tanam) greatly throughout. The Bros were found appreciating Nemani and the violinist constantly with ‘sabhash and bale’, which was nice to watch. Overall, it was a power-packed excellent kucheri, which everyone enjoyed immensely. We also noticed that the other sabha secretaries were walking towards the stage soon after the concert concluded. We sincerely hope that they would have booked the Trichur bros for the upcoming season later this year. Lets wait and see!!
The all-women organization the ” Sharada Cultural Trust” (Revanth has already described in his post about the sabha) deserves a special standing ovation, for arranging this splendid concert on the last day of the festival. Hats off to all of them!!

Sivakami - thank you for that review - sounds like a treat. This one just adds to the list of reasons why I have to hear them live...
The word in the pallavi you were unsure about was probably 'jImUta' meaning '[dark-hued (SyAmam)] as a cloud (jImUta)'.
And, before Rajesh gets to ask, were there any rAgamAlika svarams after the pallavi?
And, please post reviews of the other concerts you attended as well...

Surprisingly, no ragamalika swarams (if they were, I'd've surely written down! I did not note any). It felt somewhat incomplete for us, as we have got used to listening to ragamalika these days....were there any rAgamAlika svarams after the pallavi?

Wonderful review mami! I could not make it to this concert as I had to stay back in college till 6:30. I do feel I missed something really nice!
And Sharada Cultural Trust!!! I would not just give a standing ovation but would give a shaastanga namaskaram to these women. Its only because of them that we all get to listen to such wonderful artistes in Hyderabad, other wise I don't think we would get to listen anyone else apart from a selected set of artistes who are kind of common visitors to Hyderabad. The way they organize the concert, the ambiance, the kind of concerts they organize, everything needs a special mentioning. Thanks to the team of organizers of this sabha.

Interesting that someone is even thinking about the organisers. The normal culture is to wish their disappearance once the programme is in place - except of course to heap abuse when the sound system has a problem! That is the reward for public service.revanthv552 wrote: And Sharada Cultural Trust!!! I would not just give a standing ovation but would give a shaastanga namaskaram to these women. Not hearing about T Brothers in bangalore frequently. I heard them on youtube. Very impressive. I heard that the dad sets the terms and they are very high. I hope that I get a chance to listen to them live.

(I too googled and found the info..)Which are these two slokams? I've known Karacharana kritam va, karme va ... but unable to recollect where it is from.
The slokam in #10:
kara charaNa kritaM vAkkAyajaM karmajaM vA
SravaNa nayanajaM vA mAnasaM vAparAdham |
vihitama vihitaM vA sarvametatkSamasva
jaya jaya karuNAbde SrI mahAdeva Sambho ||
~Verse 16, Shiva Aparadha Kshama Stotra by Adi Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya
The slokam in #11:
vAme BhumisuthA purasccha HanumAn pascchaath Sumitraa sutha:
SatrugnO Bharathasccha paarsva dhaLayOrvaayvaadhi kONeshu cha I
Sugreevasccha VibhishaNasccha Yuvaraat Taaraa suthO JaambhavAn
MadhyE NEELA SAROJA KOMALA RUCHIM RAAMAM bhajE syAmaLam II
I found this in the link: http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archi ... /0106.html. Looks like its from Valmiki Ramayanam. Pl, verify with some scholar. I have also quoted wrongly in my original post as " vAme BhumisuthA purasthu hanuman, which I found somewhere, the day I was posting..This was not tallying with my notes that I tried to write down quickly in the kutcheri, while I was getting lost listening to the melodious ragam and the rendition by the Bros..
Both the slokams and the kritis were so moving... Everyone was completely absorbed and in a molten state..

I am sure some forumite will clarify further about these slokas...

The all-time gold-standard rendering (at least for me) of this aparAdha kshamA stOtram is by Smt. MSS, preceding Sri Nilakanta Sivan's kRti, SambhO mahAdEva.
