In case the group is not aware of already, this website (of charsur) provides 24x7 classical music on FM radio. They seem to be mostly playing recorded concerts...
I did try registering and I was told I'll receive an email with my password.
But I dont seem to have recd it at all and yes, I've even been checking my spam.
Can anyone help or is there some other trick of the trade that I'm missing?
I have the same experience. I tried the "free trial" registration, never got anything. Then I paid $5 for the quarterly subscription, same result. I wrote to them twice using the "Contact Us" link, but no response. I guess I'll have to give them a couple of days and then try to get my money back from PayPal.
I paid for a month's trial subscription and had to email them back and forth to recover a password to no avail. Now the subscription period is over without me logging in even once! Back to the recordings of the golden greats from sangeethapriya!!
@PVS that is terrible, not something you'd expect of Charsur. Fortunately, I paid through Paypal, I just opened a dispute. Hopefully, others will not fall into this trap.
Sorry to hear that. I did have luck in getting the password, but now I will have to think really to subscribe :^)
There is also another radio channel http://www.pandora.com/ for which you have to login and setup playstations of your interest but the choice is somewhat limited.
Two senior people at Charsur are Ms Charulatha and Sri Suresh. Both are responsible individuals and professionals. If you are in chennai, why not some one ring them up and bring to their notice these problems. I am sure you will get a quick response and also some heavy duty action on their customer service staff. My two cents!
Quick note that Charsur responded to the Paypal complaint, and sent me the password. I verified the password works, but haven't had a chance to listen to the channel. One showstopper for me is that it does not seem to work on my iPhone, and I can't listen sitting at a computer. I don't think there is an iPhone app for it, which is a pity.
I signed up for it recently and I am enjoying listening to it (last 3-4 hours). Very very good quality - and except for less than 1-minute interruption it has been uninterrupted. I am listening on my PC. I will try with my phone later(website says it should work - i have seen it work on iPad). But I dont have wifi for phone where I am now, and my dataplan isnt unrestricted for this
>One showstopper for me is that it does not seem to work on my iPhone,
ShrutiLaya, as long as it is not flash based, there is a good chance you should be able to listen to any streaming broadcast using Safari/Quicktime on the iphone. Arun says he has seen it work on the iPad, that is very encouraging.
(Just out of curiosity, does this service have anything to do with Radio or FM?. I first thought this is an online streaming of an FM station they run. )
