Malladi Brothers at Ananthapadmanabhaswamy Temple, Chennai

Program started late since it was the last day of the Brhmotsavam at the temple. Even though it was an abbreviated program, the brothers made the concert memorable by singing the raga Desakshi. It was sung as sub-main with an extended alapana preceding it. Desakshi is similar to Bilahari but takes the lower ni for a totally different feel. Kudos for bringing this rare raga and kriti to a wider circulation.
