Good to see that Ravikiran has already become a guru. I know him as a sishya of TMK. Very good accompanying artists. Ghatam must be MAK. How was the crowd? Did anyone attend Amrutha's concert the previous day?

I was very fortunate to attend both the concerts - both are outstanding artistes from Bangalore.
The hall was *packed beyond capacity* on both days - this should enthuse our organizers at Blr that you don't need to necessarily get artistes from Chennai to have an overflowing crowd.
The concerts were top class.
kssr: Amrutha began her concert with the kambodi varnam in trikaalam - it was amongst the best renditions that I've heard; She followed it up with a soulful teliyaleru rama - ragam/swaram; tilang (ragam, swaram) - was very energetic - it was a devarnama tuned by TRS (she mentioned) - 'Ramakrishnaru manege bandaru' - the swarams in both kalams were quite exciting :) - the main item was Mayamalavagaula - Merusamaana Dheera - the signficance of the song was also explained, and the audience appreciated in whole measure.
G Ravikiran's concert was solid; Vinatasutavahana - was terrific; Ramachandrena - Manji was sung beyoootifully...himagiri tanaye rendered in e la GNB-ishtyle was loved by the audience; but the piece de resistance was indeed the na jeevadhara....

Thanks sappri. Interesting about the devarnama above. I heard her sing this as a thukkada, almost bhajan style, in a radio programme a few days ago. Her main then was subhapantuvarali. She is excellent in this raga. Good to remember - to make it listener's choice when you happen to hear her next time :)
