Dear Rasikas,
After my Sunday concert in Cleveland, it has been a hectic week in Chicago for the upcoming world music dance production to be premiered today at Chicago's Northshore Performing Arts theatre at 8 pm. Featuring America's legendary choreographer Shirley Mordine and Indian stalwart Ms Hema Rajagopalan, this production has some exciting concepts of cultural collision transforming into collaboration over a period of time. I have scored the music and also invited George Brooks (sax virtuoso) and Filipe Fraga (Brazilian percussionist) for this show. My idea of course has been to showcase some of the best Carnatic concepts on this kind of mainstream events and hopefully it will come through.
