Re: jayathi jayathi bharatha matha
victory, victory to Mother India
sung by the wise
filled with forests
comfort of the despondent
victory, victory, victory!
holding all the lives to be equal
sustaining alla honour and perfection
most esteemed of all lands
possessing supreme bliss
victory, victory, victory!
appearing with countless virtues
replete with compassion
manifest flower of joy
she who is the refuge of the fallen
victory, victory, victory!
sung by the wise
filled with forests
comfort of the despondent
victory, victory, victory!
holding all the lives to be equal
sustaining alla honour and perfection
most esteemed of all lands
possessing supreme bliss
victory, victory, victory!
appearing with countless virtues
replete with compassion
manifest flower of joy
she who is the refuge of the fallen
victory, victory, victory!

Thanks CL for the corrected Lyrics.
For the benefit of others [and for karnatik.com to take note of - see also the link below], I am just highlighting the portions, where you have corrected :
nikhilamataa vananirataa natajana suhitaa ||jayati jayati|| - is part of P (there is no AP).
C1 : sakala jiiva samataa saadhu saadhu viditaa
akhila lOka praNitaa paramaananda samuditaa ||jayati jayati ||
C3 : paNDita pari-puujitaa paapa sangha vivarjitaa
khaNDita khala chEShTitaa akhaNDa dEsha vEShtitaa ||jayati jayati ||

Based on rshankar's advice, some days ago, I registered with this site and suggested to them to make a correction on Eduppu :
http://promiserani.proboards.com/....thread=255.
However, I am yet to receive any reply from them.
Perhaps, you could also try.
However, while suggesting changes, perhaps, you could stick to the normally adopted convention of "Capital A" instead of lower case "aa", ... etc.
My long standing desire however, is that karnatik.com should also display the Lyrics in Sanskrit, so that lots of ambiguities can get resolved.
For extra alphabets like Tamil's "zh", "2nd n", "2nd r = R", "L" etc, is there way out ?
For eg, is there an extended Sanskrit Lipi, with some Special Mark - similar to umlauted marks - as they have in Swedish Language ? Pl refer : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_alphabet
I had expressed this desire in rasikas forum some yrs ago. ...

Re: jayathi jayathi bharatha matha
SK,
The " adopted convention" as you said is of very recent origin perhaps but my style has been in vogue for long time and is hence time tested. It doesn't give frequent optical aberrations to the reader ( since he has to switch between capital & lower case letters very often in the same word also ) while giving him a straight line of sight. Hence it is very convenient to have samaanaaksharaas ( plane levelled letters ) rather than corrugated words like asamAnAksharAs.
The Govt. of India has adopted the Devanagari script incorporating letters for the sounds from other languages , especially from Tamil & Malayalam. Letters like 'zh' of Tamil & Mallu , 'rr' of Tamil & Telugu and 'L' are available. I have also developed customised keyboards for phonetic typing of Samskrit, Tamil, Telugu, etc.. using Windows Unicode, which can be installed in almost any PC with WinXPSP2, WinVista & Win7.
Umlauts are not unique to nor originated in Swedish. It is of Germanic origin & borrowed into Nordic languages also . So German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Icelandic, etc. have it.
