Wonderful program. Watched last weekend. A total of 15 contestants sang out of which one was eliminated.

Sri. Papanasam Ashok Ramani & Smt Sowmya are the judges and this week Smt Nityashree was the chief guest. The comments by the judges was brief and to the point. The contestants were given time to sing a song fully and the accompanying artists were good. Try catch up in Raj TV on Sat/Sun at 9 pm.

After a few lighter rounds - bhajans, classical songs from films , marriage songs, the program is now in to more classical form. This week end in the manodharma round, the participants have to sing sing ragam , nereval and swaras. Quite interesting and some wonderful performances

Adithya presented Thodi very well, has the potential to get into front ranks.
Quite a talent for 15 year old.

I did not see the program till today's final episode. The finalists Narayanan (I dont know how he sings as it was telecast before). I was surprised to hear the next two contestants , both I have heard them sing in chennai . They were Apoorva Ravindran (sister of Anahita , disciple of chitraveena ravikiran) and Ashwath narayanan (young disciple of KVN ).

Apoorva sang a RTP in keeravani and her voice has lovely azhuttam , Ashwath's nalinakanthi was very much KVN in making rendition . LIked it for its completeness . Incidentaly Ashwath got the first prize and apoorva second prize.

Congrats to Ashwath , Apoorva and Narayanan and many more who participated before . The program atleast the final was well done , there was more music than neeeeeeeedlessssssss hyperbole and praise.

I managed to catch Apoorva's performance towards the end.Ashwath was amazing; yes he did remind me of Shri KVN. He is the disciple of Smt.Padma Narayanaswamy whom he thanked as soon as the result was announced.

There is so much talent in the youngsters now. Felt very happy to see the programme.

Totally agree with Punarvasu. There are so many wonderful, talented young singers now. Congratulations to these excellent performers!

I haven't seen the show, but from the few clips that I have seen on youtube, I see that the production is excellent. The studio setting, lighting, editing and direction are all very professional (especially compared to the very primitive and spartan looking sets on the Idol show).

Hopefully someone can catalog and post the entire series on the web.

Maybe it is just me, but what is with all the gold? (sponsor's interests notwithstanding).

Caught this one on TV on one of those rare occasions. Very nice indeed. Can someone throw some light on the accompanying artistes? Literally, because they were in semi darkness throughout. The talam used by Apoorva was complicated and I don't know what it's called. Took me a long time to figure out what she was doing. Even if this production was good, for me the format is still a bit unsettling, where the singer is trying to do everything in one go, without any back and forth with the violin, which is very much part of the modern way of team presentation of an RTP. But still much better than some of the earlier snippets of Idols and other shows that I've glimpsed.

Apart from the light there was not a single frame where the accompanist were zoomed . I also felt they could have done better .

IIRC RG sisters made a passing mention about Apoorva was attempting a pancha nadai pallavi.

Also after such lovely singing by two youngsters , I did not like Unnikrishnan ending with a brief kavadi chindu, kind of dipped the quality of classicism
