A very lively , spirited concert by the sisters. They began the concert with a beautiful classical masterpiece of Muthiah Bhagavathar , set in an endearing Khamas and was sung in both the speeds.. Its always a treat to hear Khamas :) , especially when the concert begins with it. Vatapi Ganapathim , another popular composition of Dikshitir was sung with good , brisk rendition of swaras.

A brief , crisp alaap in Mohana by Haripriya , and on the violin by Krishnaswamy was good. At this point when most in the audience thought it would be Mohana Raama , the sisters came up with a beautiful composition of Vasudevachar. This popular , very beautiful composition indeed has gone into oblivion and is not heard frequently. It was refreshing to hear this composition and swaras in mohana dealt with in great detail. Muruga muruga in saveri was well sung.

A detailed elaboration of Naasikabhushani by Shanmukhapriya was the highlight of the concert . Maaravairiramani , is a very brisk , lively composition and i enjoyed every bit of it including rendition of swaras..

The next kriti of Saint Annamacharya indeed was beautiful. As mentioned by Haripriya this composition is believed to be the last composition of Saint Annamacharya. I was nearly in tears listening to this amazing composition..

The composer says. “Oh my Father (Ayya)! Preserve these (dAchukO)! These are the offerings I have for you (nE jEsina pUjalivi)”

First charanam’s meaning is as follows
“One sankeerthana is enough for all of us to be protected by you. Let the rest of them remain in your custody. The chant of your name is the source of all satisfaction. This chant’s price(vela) is inexpensive (sulabhamu) but the fruit(phalam) of that is immensely high (adhikamu). These sankeerthanams are the limitless treasures.”

Second charanam’s meaning is as follows
“You adorned my tongue and made me sing all these compositions. You are the Lord with a thousand names. Who am I after all to sing your glory? All this is just a boon you granted by you to me ( Annamayya talks about all the ability to compose sankeerthanams)”

Third charanam’s meaning is as follows:
“Lord! Please don’t find faults with me. I did not do this out of pride. All this writing about your glory is not something I did on my own. It was a result of my endless belief in you! I am a slave to you! You are my father! Venkateswara!” ..[(courtesy Revanth..) I have lifted the meaning of this composition from the review posted by Mr . Revanth..Here's the link of that concert... http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=19030]

Kharaharapriya was great and Raama Neeyeda was followed by brisk swaras .. I really enjoyed the tani as well.

All the post tani compositions were a treat to listen.. The Bhajan was sung with great devotion.. The mangalam by Bhadrachala Ramadasu was a welcome move. :D It would be good if mangalam of different composers are sung at the end . [ We usually listen only to Pavamaana ...]The audience were all seated when the mangalam was sung ..A memorable concert which will linger on for quite sometime.
