Yes Ramya, even I saw that. That's why I did not open.
Even Sangeethapriya is not stable now a days. It works one day and then one week something is wrong, like server down or som error pops up.

Just type hummaa.com in the address strip and when you get to the main page, select the alphabet for the artist you want.

While it is easy to search for a song or a raga in MIO, the sound quality is pathetic. I should say the sound is terrible to the ears.
As for hummaa, I am not able to figure out as to how to pick a particular song or a raga, like you can do in MIO....prepared to be educated..sound quality is excellent.
"advanced options" under MIO has been under construction for well over 2 years...must be a mega project !

Thanks

pl open hummaa.com. you will get headings , new arrivalas, home, album, index etc . at the end of the page you will see a heading' browse categorywise' the first one is carnatic containing sub divisions ,vocal ,instrumental. devotional etc hope you get it easily.
I think it is not so detailed as raagawise, song wise, but artist wise only. . Threre are plenty of film songs, languagewise. Having said that, IT WILL BE MORE USEFUL FOR FILM SOGS THAN CARNATIC
BEST WISHES. gobilalitha

It is not just the sound quality that is bad in MIO but also the description of many kritIs. A substantial number of them are attributed the wrong RAgA or tALA or composer. Otherwise they do have a good collection and a convenient search engine. I also second the fact that it loads trojans in the computer.

All above sites including sampradayabhajana, marathiworld, etc must have been depended on sponsors or donation. When the revenue source dries up, the websites stop functioning, I suppose.

Hi

If you miss Shruti , and want a good qualty alternative to listen to carnatic music ?

RadioWeb Carnatic is Live - from the people at Radio Shruti on WorldSpace

RadioWeb Carnatic is a new attempt at reaching Carnatic music to listeners through the web, so there are no geographical restrictions. The service combines the feel of radio with the ease of on-demand listening, where you can browse through a long list of Carnatic music programmes to listen to. Yes, these are prepared programmes, features and interviews where the songs are thematically presented and RJs take you through the programme giving you information about the song and the theme.

RadioWeb Carnatic also gives you the advantage of high quality audio and programmes that you can access and listen to at your convenience. You can try RadioWeb Carnatic completely for a week; beyond that, you can subscribe through a variety of attractive subscription packages.

Give RadioWeb a try at http://www.radioweb.in

Nice website, professionally done.

But free online radio stations are available. Something like shrutiradio.com offers 4 non stop channels covering vocal, instrumental under Carnatic and Hindustani.

So how many will go for this paid service is not known.
