Dear Radha,
We wish to place on record our deep appreciation of the efforts taken by you and Bhaskar to come up with this unique concept of Concert Webcast. We were flooded with messages and calls both during and after the programme. Not only did many people in India watch the webcast, we received calls and emails from places like San Francisco, Miami, London and Dubai where friends and rasikas had taken pains to be awake during odd hours. Congratulations to Mudhra and keep up the good work!
If any of the rasikas from this forum have watched the program, we would like to thank you for it.
A special thank you to Radhika Rajnarayan for having willingly shared the DVD of our concert, and Mannarkoil Balaji and Trichy Murali who brilliantly accompanied us in the concert.
Regards,
Jeyaraaj and Jaysri

Respected JJ, I watched the programme and it was of high standard as I have always heard from you. Similarly one AIR concert relayed last week which was of very high standard. I would like to hear one concert of you played in the conventional Saraswthi Veena. Thanks a lot.

CRama, glad to know that you watched the program. A DD concert of ours played on the conventional veena is available on the youtube. That of course is the pure acoustic sound, without a contact mike, as that is how we prefer to play the conventional instrument. For auditoria, where amplification is necessary, ever since 1995 (or thereabouts) when the choice of electronic veena was made available, we have been using it regularly for our concerts.

veenajj,
I have seen the conventional veena employed with the 'conventional mic'
(which is used by vocalists and other instrumentalists) in Raga Sudha Hall and the CLT, IIT Madras. I hope you too will consider the same in halls of about such size.

srikant1987, the last time we played in CLT, IIT Madras was in 1993! They have not invited us to play since then, so we do not know when next that is going to happen
..
On a serious note, we shall keep your thoughts in mind, but as of now we are not planning to change anything with respect to how we go about things for halls with an audience sitting and hearing us live.
Elsewhere in this forum, CRama you have rightly pointed out about tanam not being there in the webcast. Actually the RTP and a few other items had to be edited out as it was part of a 4-1/2 hour concert, and the webcast had to be a time-bound affair. Given here is a link to an excerpt from the tanam that we had played during that concert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01gJTZF1r2Y
