Thirupaarkadal S Veeraraghavan

Post by vs_manjunath »

Would like to know the welfare of this senior violin vidwan who was almost a permanent accompanist to DKP.
Also has played to vocalists like Ramnad Krishnan and senior vocalists.

He passed away quite a few years back. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. He was not only a great violinist & vidwan; He was a perfect gentleman who did not deviate from absolute classicism and made every concert he took part in better for the audiences as well as the artists on the stage......VKV

I have a 1989 live recording of Mandolin Srinivas with Veerraghavan and Palghat Raghu. I had the unique opportunity of hosting Palghat Raghu and Veerraghavan while in San Diego. A very modest man with an uncanny sense of humour. The main ragam at that concert is an out of the world Kiravani (Kalike Unde Katha) steeped in classicism with crisp violin returns by Shri Veerraghavan.
