N Rajam's Upcoming Performances

Was hoping that someone would be able to give me some information on N.Rajam's upcoming performances in India. I can't seem to find anything on the Internet.

I don't think she performs much of late. She works in Hubli, Karnataka at the Gangubai Hangal Gurukul, Hubli as artiste-in-residence/faculty. Even if she does, it doesn't get publicized much in the English media that we often read

In North Karnataka, you have top class artistes performing in small towns. You will only read about it after the concert is over.

I'll contribute a sad face too. I, too, thought Sindhu was posting her concert schedule. She didn't play all that much in the quartet I heard in Singapore earlier this year, but the concert is still fresh in my mind for the absolute "sowkhyam" it carried from start to finish. And the supple bowing that runs in that family is something that never ceases to amaze and haunt. Unfortunately, there isn't very much of her music floating around on the net either.

I read about the Gurukul some time back in newspaper, and it was exciting to even read about it! I am sure Dr N Rajam will enjoy sharing her knowledge and insight in the wonderful settings of the Gurukul, and that the Gurukul will benefit greatly from her contributions too.

Thank you so much, everyone! Apologize for misleading some of you. Due to it being busy time at work, I could not respond earlier. I am so sad that Rajam ji does not perform as much as she used to. I have fallen in love with her music and can't stop listening to it. Dr. Sangeetha, thanks really for the information. You've made my day. I only wish she would also perform in Hyderabad. Or Bangalore at least. Will try going to Hubli if not.

I saw a webcast from Svanubhava last year where N. Rajam (with family) demonstrated difference in Kalyani in the Hindustani & Carnatic styles-just beautiful, as always!

Some more concert info for July- Dr.N.Rajam is performing in Dharwad on 29th July. I am performing in Raipur on 28th July and Nagpur on 29th.

Dr. N Rajam, with Dr. SS and granddaughters, is playing on SVBC Naadaneeranjanam now (12 Sep, 6:40 pm IST).
