Re: meaning for shivakAma suundari-jaganmOhini
I am not good like Shankar or Arasi and the others, but I will try my hand at this. Here is the meaning:
Pallavi: Sivakama Sundari- The beautiful one, who charms Shiva
A: Bavasagaram - Our daily, mundane life which is like a ocean
Karai kanada- Who cannot find the edge (of the Bavasagara)
Pavi Ennai- me, the sinner
Eedetri Viduvathu- to take me ashore (to help me)
un ( I think it may be unakku)- for you
Bharama- is it a big problem?
sonnen- I ask you
The poet is asking Devi, 'Is it hard for you to help me, the sinner, to cross this big ocean of everyday life?'.I have nobody else in this world other than you, the one who makes the one dancing in the Golden pavilion happy.
Medini tanil- In this world
Enakkarumillai- I have nobody
Natanamadum (?)- Dancing
Kanakasabha nathan - Siva, the one who is dancing in the Golden pavilion
Manam magizsndida- make him happy
C: Adi Parapari Shankari- Shankari (name of Parvathi), the one from ages ( is it Adi Parathpari)
Anandi Jaganmohini - The one who makes others happy, one who charms the world
Vedangalum- All the vedas
unadu- your
mahimai- powers
Uraithida pomo- can they explain it
padi pirayai anindum- the one who wears the half moon
parama kripa katakshi- huge bestower of kindness
ennai sodikka vendam- don't test me
Balakrishnan sodari- sister of Balakrishna
ennai aadari- please help me
Even the vedas cannot explain your greatness. The one who is a ocean of kindness, wearing the half moon ( I thought it was Shiva who wore the half moon) , don't test me. Please help me, sister of Balakrishna
Corrections welcome .

Maduraimini - wonderful.
My take on SivakAmasundari is - beautiful embodiment (sundari) of Siva's desire (kAma) - this was translated earlier - http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic. ... aganmohini

rshankar: I am sorry but I must have missed looking at the link you provided. I did do a search but most were for the mukhari song and I did not spot the jaganmohini song. Thanks.
