Isai charal in Podhigai

AIR Chennai is celeberating 75th year with various programmes.one of them is Isai charal,concerts in front of audience in their studio.These concerts are conducted on fridays from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.and can be heard in FM and chennai 1 on the dates annonced by AIR.There is also telecasts of these concerts on saturdays in podhigai channel from 3 to 4.30 p.m.There were some very good concerts ,to mention some,Smt.Padmavathi Anantagopalan,chitraveena Ravikiran,Smt.Rama Ravi,Dr.T.N.Rajam and the orchestra by the staff artists of AIR Chennai which was really a very good one.
I could personally attend Smt.Vedavallis concert on 13th july which will be telecast on 25th august.last saturday 28th we could listen to Sri.TNS s concert in podhigai which was a really nice one.He sang a kriti of Muthaiah bhagavatar in the raga vijayasaraswathi a rare one.the kriti starts as "saranam vijayasaraswathi.the raga alaap by both Sri.TNS and Sri.M.Chandrasekaran was very nice.the other items were koluvaiyunnade,tyagarajo virajate and saragunapalimpa.kedaragaulai was elaborately sung.
Thanks to AIR Chennai and Podhigai we are able to enjoy such good music.
