a 11 year made every one listening cry because of his bhavam layam and melody. In fact Vijay TV broadcast this episode twice and it will be broadcast again.

Suresh, that is pricelessLot of good performances.
That said, I thought the kid sang really well.
Didn't Sri Madurai GS Mani have something to do with this composition?

Very beautifully sung by the youngster. He managed to catch the 'bhavam' of the song so well bringing tears in the eyes of the viewers. May God bless the child. I was quite moved by what the father said.
I remember attending a lecture by Dr.Sudha Seshayyan in which she spoke about the 'misunderstood' characters from our puranas. Karnan was one of them. I cried that day and the same feelings were brought on when I saw this video. Thanks GBL for posting the link.

I have been listening to the Airtel program for a couple of days on You Tube and I heard this song yesterday. It was very moving as the boy sang with emotion and made many of them cry. It is one of my favorite songs and this scene with my hero Sivaji as Karnan in his deathbed and N.T.Rama Rao as Lord Krishna is etched in my mind. They youngster sang this fine song with Bhavam and maturity in spite of his tender age. Kudos to him for singing it with finesse. God has Blessed him with this fine gift and seems like he is using it wisely and his parents support him. His parents also seem to be happy and grateful that their son's talent is recognized by the stalwarts of CM. I am sure the music directors and others listened to him and he will be getting many offers. Best wishes
Like Punarvasu says Karnan was misrepresented in the Epic- except for his generosity. But this movie 'Karnan' brought out a new side of Karnan. Sivaji Ganesan brought a new Karnan before us.

Suresh:
Very moving performance by the boy. Congratulations to him.
We recently saw the re-release version of Karnan. It was quite an experience watching it again after these many years. I wonder if parents are equipped well to answer the many questions that kids may ask after seeing this movie.

Suresh, Mahavishnu, VKokilam,

Then again, thanks to GBL for the clip. A really moving performance by the youngster.Congratulations to him and to his parents.
As for the stars of CM (I mean their presence, not performance!), every time I watch one of these programs, I'm amazed at the way the stars outdo themselves in their appearances. A glittery gala is what comes to mind. It is obvious that the youngsters are inspired by their music. I do hope that they do not pay too much attention to their attire. To become a CM musician, the youngsters (or their parents) do not have to spend a lot of money on wardrobe!
It's after all their music that matters.

Couple of years or so ago, a young man did a wonderful job with "Penn onru kanden" for the same program and when it was the judges' turn to comment, Sriram Parthasarathy simply said, "I would like to come out and give you a hug". Seemed genuine and heartfelt so much more than the circus in this clip.
