This is a very popular ShlOkA and I can understand the single words but can't understand the running meaning and wondered whether posters could help. Google didn't help much.

lakshMi pradhAna samayE navavidrumApAm
vidyA pradhAna samayE Sharadindu niramalAm
vidvEShi varga vijayE tamAla nIlAm
dEvIM trilOka jananIm SharaNam prapadyE ||

I think it shoud read as follows

lakshMi pradAna samayE navavidrumAbhAm
vidyA pradAna samayE sharadindu niramalAm
vidvEShi varga vijayE tamAla nIlAm
dEvIM trilOka jananIm sharaNam prapadyE

A very loose translation:

I take refuge in dEvi, who is the mother of three worlds, (who is) bright as a newly springing plant(tree?) in giving weath, clear as autumn moonlight in giving knowledge, and dark as cimmamon while slaying opponents.

vidruma is coral. vidrumAbhAm is "Her Who is ruddy huead as a new coral"

Perfect DRS! I was thinking hard and could not connect the colours. Red, White and Black fit like a glove!
I guess it is nirmalAm (spotless) to keep up the chandas. The last line seems to be losing one syllable!

This SlOka reminds me of ODeyar's (the Maharaja of Mysore) compositions, and Bharatiyar's 'mAtA parASaktI! vaiyyam ellAm nI niraindAi': the unification of alaimagaL (red), kalaimagaL (white), and malaimagaL (black/blue) as trilOka mAtA. Very appropos for the navarAtri period.

could also be while conferring wealth the devi who is mother to triloka is ruddy like coral while giving vidya she is spotless like Sarat kaala moon and while killing enemies she is blue hued like the tamala tree( blue like her brother krishna).
