I had the privilege of recording some Bhajan lessons with Dr Sriram Parasuram some time back. I had attended many of his concerts and lecture-demonstrations and knew him to be an erudite musician but his approach and passion to teaching was a wonderful sight to see. Dr Sriram gives a very beautiful insight into the lyrical importance to be given to such type of compositions and the classical rigor needed to bring out the form effectively. Makes one realize that any type of composition can gain grandeur if given due diligence and thanks to gurus like Dr Sriram for showing the way.

Have to make a special mention of the student featured in the video, Raghava Krishna , son of Shri VV Ravi. Hats off to a Carnatic music singer for having been able to pull off the Hindustani 'pidis' with ease. Mark of a good singer for sure.
