I will not let go of your feet. Why are you putting on airs?
grant my wishes, Why are you annoyed?[p]

Even if you enter the water, I will not let you go,
Even if you say you are carrying a weight on your back,I will not let you go.
Even if you display your fangs and sqirm away,I will not let you go
even if you assume a dreadful form and grunt I will not leave you.[c1]

Even if you say that you are a mendicant, I will not leave
though knowingly you severed your mother's neck, I am not letting you go
Though you entered the woods to keep up your father's promise, I will not leave
Even if you plunge into the evil waters, I will not leave you.[c2]

Even if you say you are bare and pennyless, will not leave
even ifyou ride away on a horse outright,I will not leave.
Our purandara vittala on this earth, it is your responsibility to
take me across,

as::Even if you sharpen and display your fangs and sqirm away,I will not let you go.

A suggestion please
It will be appropriate to read the second line in {p} as,
grant the wishes of my heart, why are you annoyed?
Thank you.

binga is wrong. It is binka. See aaaaabbbbb's first post on this topic.
biDe.. D as in Dinner.
This song is an example of nindaastuti.

Smt. Savitri , please add notes to the incidents referenced, that would be very helpful.

"though knowingly you severed your mother's neck.."
When was the mother's neck cut? Never heard of this.

This refers to Parasurama cutting off his mother's neck at the behest of his father Jamadagni, who suspected her character. Later, when the pleased Jamadagni asked his son to ask for a boon, he asked for the boon that his mother's(Renuka Devi) life be restored.

aaaaabbbbb,
You've done an exemplary job, congrats,
I was tempted last night to do so myself before the request came, but good I waited.
My only recommendation is that you change your name to have more flavour and colour. I also find counting the a's and b's as I type a bother.
Following suggestions for your name:
1. AAYEE (means different things in different Indian languages)
2. Aabhaa
3. Aanandavallee
5. AmitabhA
6. Ballide

varsha Ji.
Thank You.
Thank you for the link.Way back in late fifties.we studied a poem in kannada written by Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai.{?}
It mentions the case of the musk deer which is ignorant of the perfume in its body but searches all over to find it.There he says ‘kannada kasturi’
The name of the poem is :tAye bAra mogava tOra kannaDigara mAteyE’
just as the musk deer searches for the perfume, kannadigas are not aware of their
prowess but search all over.
The exact words of the poet’tanna maiya kampanariyadadane horage huDukuva
mrgada sEdu nammapADu parara nuDige miDukuva’.
In a sense we are all kasturis.

When we were young we have heard the statement: 'Telugu tETTa, Kannada kasturi, aravam advAnam'.
I used to wonder why they called 'aravam advAnam'.

Dear rasikas,
What a fine article by Deepa Ganesh. Hats off to her. Thanks Varsha!!!
While sounding the alarm about the fast disappearing open-minded Rasika, we yet need to recognise the wonderful audiences that different genres of musical performances attract in Karnataka. Even today, all types of musicians tell me how much they love to perform here.

Perhaps you all have heard this. The AIR-broadcast tribute of Shri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar to his guru Vid Vasudevachar tells a lot about the 'srimantate' of this land:
