Presentation of Sunaada awards to the Artistes in different fields.
The function organised by Sunaada Trust was conducted at NGS mini hall on 5th Oct and the folowing are the few important points noted
The event started exactly at 15 45 hrs with Goshti Ganam by the students from the Dept of Music of Madras University

There was a break for 15 mts for arranging the dais for the dignitaries. And the function again started at 16 15 hrs.
Prf SRJ, Sembanar Koil SRD Vaidhiyanathan, Srivatsa Jayarama Sharma and Mouli were lead to the podium along with R Krishnasami of NGS.
Dr. Padma Subramaniam [ one of the recipients ] was little late to arrive and the function started w/o her .
In the welcome address by [?] mentioned that this function is organised by Pramila Gurumoorthy since 1975 known as Nada Yagnayam/ Nada Sangamam and devotional songs of Thiru Arutpa of Vallalar are recited and regularly conducted on 5th oct. Surprisingly the date of Birth of Dr Pramila Gurumoorthy too and this was revealed by Dr padma when Pramila offered her respects by touching her feet.
For the first time Sunaada Sri award is conferred to deserving Artistes from various field by this organization.
Dr Padma arrived at 16 20 hrs as she was caught in the traffic jam
Initially Gurumoorthy honoured Krishnasamy with Shawl
Sunaada Award consisting of Shawl, Cheque [ amount not disclosed] and a citation as sannadh were distributed to the Artistes
M/s Vijaya Lakshmi Sivakumar, Subasri Hari, Lakshmi Ramaswamy and Dr. Swarnamalya Ganesh all from the Dept of Music of Madras University read out the citation before honoring the Awardees for the promotion, preservation and Propagation of the Bharathiya Sanskriti.

The recipients of this Award are Pancha Rathnam and earned honour in their field.
When Pramila approached him for the Hall he immediately accepted though it was at a odd hour and day
Her wish to celebrate her Birthday by honoring the Musicians is praise worthy
NGS have so far honoured three of the present Awardees and it is a pity there is no mention about this in their citations
Prf SRJ and TRS have given a new dimension to CM
SRJ though belong to Old School and tradition [ Parambariyam] yet he has given room for the modern thoughts too
Both SRD Vaidhyanathan and SRJ are nadhabhramam and most deserving for such honour
Brhamsri Jayarama Sharma is known to him since 40 yrs and very close associate of himself.
He can connect Cricket and Guruvayurappan in his discourse very casually which will be very interesting
His father Brahmasri Somadeva sharma was a scholar in Dharma Sasthram besides a ' Vedha vitpannar '
He follows his father's foot step in the religious field
He mentioned about Haridos swamiji's contribution and about his last performance at NGS in 1993 [ Bhagavatha Sapthagam] before he attained Jalasamadhi.
He had close association with Director Subramaniam father of Dr. Padma though he was 55 yrs older than him.
Her mother was a Srividhya Upasagar besides a Vina exponent.
Director Sub gave lot of importance to Hemamalini and supported her to shape her career
All her brothers are very close to him and was maintaining very good relationship with them
Padma is a shining star.
Mahaperiyava gave the assignment of execution of Karanas for sculpture work at Sathara Nataraja temple which she did meticulously.
Presently she is engaged in the great project of construction of a temple to Bharath muni.
As regards to Mouli he knows him from his college days 1967 onwards
He was instrumental in the reformation of chaste Drama Tamil to simple colloquial language with subtle humor
It is an unique opportunity that both uncle and nephew [ mama and maruman] getting award together.
He brings out useful DVDs during his father's {TSB} remembrance day

As he was to start on tour he offered his thanks of acceptance at first and left immediately
He mentioned that selection has been made from each field viz. Iyal, Isai and Natakam for this Award which is very commendable.
The citations were read perfectly which is very important on such functions. He mentioned that on one such occasion at Ooty a collector who wanted to read the citation himself stopped abruptly while mentioning his Birth year as 1900.
The biggest achievement of Krishnaswamy is the construction of such a good big Building of Gnanada Hall.
In his present TV opera he insists on Kootu kudumbam [ Nadaswaram serial ] which is a totally faded factor
He has an highest regard for Padma sister [akka] and her Krishnaya thubyam Namaha is an excellent work that he admired.
In his earlier days he staged the plays with the full support of his uncle though his father was not interested.
He is happy he receives this award along with his maternal uncle.

He feels very humble on this platform and also little nervous on hearing the Awardee's contributions in their respective field

Krishnaswamy keeps every minute anecdotes in his finger tip and he should be conferred with this title
The vibration created by Haridoss Guruji still encircles this auditorium and act as Rakshai to all the recipients of this Award

Dr Pramila since a month working very hard for arranging this function
As regs Dr. Padma once he had an opportunity to witness the dance drama Kanakadasa at Chowdaiah Hall at Bangalore.
In that to give Darshan to Kanagadasa, Udupi Krishnan slowly turns back inch by inch that was depicted by Padma very slowly but without knowing anybody about her movement for turning back. He enjoyed her fine talent in that piece.
Pramila comes from the family of S Rajam and fully trained by him.
While talking about Vallalar he mentioned that Krupanda variar was dragged to court by a
suit filed against him for performing Kumbhabishegam to Vallar monument.

He sang a piece in Atana ' Summa summa Varuma Sugam '
He thanked Pramila Gurumoorthy for honouring him with the title.

The function came to an end by 17 45 hrs.
The function was well organized and the mini hall was full. Most of them from University of Madras Music Dept. The group sang well and organizers could have mentioned the names of the participants. All spoke in Tamil only. No doubt that Krishnaswamy is a very learned man with full of bio data of musicians in his finger tips. In fact a quite enjoyable afternoon session.
